Our Story

Hi! I’m Mitzi and I’ve always had a love for flowers and animals. As a child, I would beg my mother to stop on the side of the road to pick up a stray animal or pick wildflowers. And that love has only become stronger throughout the years.

My husband, Lorin, and I founded The Tilted Tulip floral service and wedding planning in January of 2021 after designing and managing weddings for friends and family over the past years. We both have a passion for helping people as shown by our careers, with Lorin’s recent retirement after serving 25 years with the Chattanooga Police Department and my legal career.

Lorin is my greatest supporter; an occasional second opinion, although I admit, I don’t always listen, and the love of my life. Our children, grandchildren and “Hank” are our everything!

In our spare time we enjoy hunting, fishing, camping and traveling. I can take my office anywhere!

We take what our clients want and turn it into something extraordinary and imaginative — something out of the norm and the box.

We adapt to changing trends. We work within any budget and are passionate about what our clients want.

Our family-owned business is based out of our home which allows us to meet with clients here or wherever is convenient to them, at anytime with no specific “office” hours.

It is our mission to bring to life our clients’ visions and every design is tailored to that client. We don’t believe in doing the same designs over and over. Each one is unique and created with special thought and care.

My motto is to “think outside the box, make anything possible and to be an Imagineer!”
